What is PixelCore

Any file in, one link out.
Hosted on your terms.

PixelCore is a self-hosted personal cloud. Drop a photo, a 4K clip, a PDF or a 2 GB zip and get back a clean, fast link — auto-optimised, organised into albums, and shareable with a QR code or a password. No third-party storage, no egress fees.

How it works

Three steps, start to share

From a raw drop to a polished link in seconds — every step runs on your own server.

01

Drop

Drag in photos, 4K video, PDFs, zips — anything up to 2 GB per file. No formats to convert, no client to install.

02

Optimise

Every image is re-encoded to responsive AVIF + WebP on the fly, and media gets a clean preview — all on your own box.

03

Share

Get one fast link with rich previews. Add a QR code, set a password, embed the player, or organise it into an album.

Everything in the box

Built like a real product, not a bucket

The conveniences you'd expect from a hosted service — without handing anyone your files.

Upload anything

Photos, 4K video, documents and zips up to 2 GB each — one drop, one link, no fuss.

On-the-fly AVIF / WebP

Images become responsive AVIF and WebP automatically, served at the right size for every screen.

Folders & albums

A real file manager — nested folders, virtual albums, an Archive and bulk actions, not a dumping ground.

Embeddable players

Video and audio come with clean inline players you can embed anywhere with a single snippet.

QR + password links

Generate a QR for any link, lock a drop behind a password, and revoke access whenever you like.

Self-hosted privacy

It all runs on your own server — no third-party storage, no egress fees, no one mining your files.

Good to know

Frequently asked

What can I upload to PixelCore?

Almost anything — photos, 4K video, audio, PDFs, documents and zip archives, up to 2 GB per file. Images are optimised automatically; everything else is served exactly as you uploaded it.

How does the image optimisation work?

When you open or share an image, PixelCore re-encodes it to modern AVIF and WebP at the resolution the viewer actually needs, then caches the result. You upload the original once and every viewer gets a fast, lean version.

Is it really self-hosted?

Yes. PixelCore runs on your own box — files, thumbnails and the database all live there. There is no third-party object store in the path, which means no egress fees and nobody else holding your data.

How do private and password-protected links work?

Every link can be public, unlisted, or locked behind a password. You can attach a QR code for sharing in person, and you can revoke or change a link at any time without re-uploading the file.

Does it cost anything?

PixelCore is free to use. Because it is self-hosted there are no per-seat fees and no surprise egress bills — the only cost is the box it runs on.
